Designed to help pupils in year 4, 5 and 6 develop their English and Maths skills, the Tutoring Young Residents Programme is free to take part in with the after-school sessions.

In total, 23 youngsters completed the programme this year, with a further 65 young A2Dominion residents currently taking part across Ealing, Hounslow, Spelthorne and Winchester.

This year, Dilan was named A2Dominion Pupil of the Year. In 11 hours of tuition, he progressed by almost two year levels in English. This is nearly three times the average progress of others in his age group. He also progressed by 56% in Maths.

We began our partnership with Tutors United six years ago and in the 2021-2022 academic year, £16,000 of funding was secured through the National Lottery, West Ealing Grants (A2Dominion and Clarion funding) and the Great Places to Live (A2Dominion funding).

Dawn Wightman, A2Dominion’s Director of Housing said: “We’re delighted to celebrate our six-year partnership with Tutors United. Supporting families and creating opportunities for children to develop their education is a key commitment of our community investment activities. It’s all part of keeping profit for social purpose at the heart of what we do.

“We’ve seen a really positive impact on the young people who’ve attended on their educational attainment and confidence levels. It’s fantastic to see their achievements and we look forward to more years partnering with Tutors United.”

Registration is now open for the 2022-23 academic year. Parents and carers can register for a place on the programme via the Tutors United website.
