Development
A2Dominion, a residential property group which reinvests its profits into providing new homes and local communities, received planning permission from Ealing Council for the scheme on Western Avenue in Perivale.
The development will deliver 57 new homes, with 29 of these earmarked as London Affordable Rent and the remaining for 28 shared ownership, supporting first-time buyers onto the property ladder.
Construction started in January 2020, with completion expected in March 2022.
Danny Lynch, Director of Land and Development at A2Dominion said: “This new site is another great example of bringing affordable homes to Ealing.
“For over 50 years we have played a role in helping to develop communities across the borough through providing and managing new homes. The Western Avenue development will help to bring back to life a key site within Perivale that has remained unoccupied for some time.
“Schemes like Western Avenue are made possible through our commitment to reinvest all of our profits back into providing affordable housing. Through this scheme we are contributing up to £120,000 of our own surpluses for each of the 29 London Affordable Rent properties being built.”
The 100% affordable scheme contributes towards A2Dominion’s commitments to the Mayor of London’s housing programme to deliver affordable homes across the city.
Previously home to a roadside diner, the site on Western Avenue has been vacant for a significant period of time and had fallen victim to repeated fly tipping. This development is in line with A2Dominion’s commitment to build on vacant brownfield sites in sustainable urban locations.
The new development has strong transport links, with a short walk to Perivale Underground Station and is also close to a variety of sports grounds and green spaces.
A2Dominion currently manages 3,500 properties across Ealing. It has further plans to build 980 new homes in the borough over the next four years, with 450 of these set to be affordable homes.
