Matilda House, Oxford
Matilda House provides support, specialised services and shelter for those facing or at risk of homelessness.

Figures show Matilda House generated £1,546,000 in social value in the first two quarters of 2025 (April - September).

The impact:

  • £785,000 in improved health outcomes
  • £350,000 in homelessness prevention
  • £240,000 in financial inclusion
  • £135,000 in employment support
  • £52,000 in physical health improvements.
Matilda House offers accommodation for up to 37 residents and was first opened in 2019. It incorporates short-term housing, providing support for 22 homeless people with complex needs, and medium-term housing with a move-on programme focused on employment and training for 15 people.

Each resident has a dedicated support worker to help them access tailored support services and put a plan in place to help them to live independent and fulfilling lives. From April to September this year Matilda House has successfully helped 20 people move on from the scheme, with many of those now living independent lives.

Dawn Wightman, Director of Customer and Communities at A2Dominion, said: “We’re proud of the ongoing work by our colleagues at Matilda House, whose dedication continues to transform the lives of people facing or at risk of homelessness in Oxford. Behind the £1.5 million figure generated in social value is a real story of people who have been helped towards a brighter and stable life.”

Social value is calculated by assessing multiple aspects of each individuals’ journey - from the moment they arrive at Matilda House to the point they successfully move on from the service.

This is measured using an end of support form, which captures a range of outcomes including progress from temporary to secure accommodation, improvements in health and wellbeing, employment status, and other key indicators of personal development and stability.
