A2Dominion has started the process of reopening its directly managed construction sites with a range of enhanced health and safety procedures.

The first site reopened on 27th April after closing alongside our other sites on 25th March. While construction has been permitted by the government throughout this period, we wanted to take time to ensure the safety of the people who work on our sites and our local communities.

We have now carefully reviewed our procedures and taken steps to make sure we are operating safely, so it is important that we get back to work creating new homes for people who urgently need them.

Some sites building new A2Dominon homes are managed by our partners. A small number of these sites have remained open with a limited workforce and strong procedures in place. We are in close contact with our partners about operations on these sites to make sure they meet the latest guidance.

To be confident in reopening our sites we have:

  • Reviewed our Site Operating Procedures to make sure they are in line with the latest guidance from the government and the Construction Leadership Council (CLC). These reviews continue to take place weekly.
  • Undertaken a full Health & Safety Assessment of each site.
  • Put in place extra reassurance measures to check procedures are being adhered to across our sites and sites managed by our partners, including recording photographic evidence.
Examples of some of the procedures that we have put in place at sites include:

  • Limiting the number of people on site
  • Staggering start and finish times
  • Taking and recording the temperature of everyone entering the site. Anyone with a temperature above 37.8 degrees or above will be denied entry
  • Planning work to maximise social distancing
  • Allowing staff to park on site close to their work, where it is safe to do so
  • Ensuring staff are aware of a zero-tolerance approach to any breach of our procedures.
We are conducting virtual viewings for our affordable rent homes and our sales offices remain closed, although ongoing sales and enquires are being processed remotely so people can move swiftly once restrictions have lifted.
