The government is currently consulting on proposals to introduce caps on increases to rents for social and affordable homes in 2023/24.
A2Dominion recently submitted our response to the government, taking into account our responsibility to provide homes that people can afford, along with ensuring that we have the resources to look after our homes and communities through a sustainable financial position.

Commenting on A2Dominion’s response to the consultation, Anne Waterhouse, Executive Director for Central & Financial Services and Deputy Chief Executive at A2Dominion, said: “We support the G15’s position that housing associations should be able to set levels of rent as appropriate to their own circumstances and to ensure they continue to meet the needs of their customers and keep their homes safe and well maintained.

“If there is to be a cap at all for 2023/24, then our favoured position would be a cap of 7% as it would best enable us to maintain our own investment in our services to our customers and their homes.”

The G15 have spoken out about the need for further targeted support from government and have increased support for customers, including providing £5.8m for vital crisis support this year, and helping residents to secure £44m of additional funding last year.
