Partnership formed to help women pursue a career in construction

We have teamed up with property service provider Breyer Group and economic and social research agency Quantum Vantage to help women in London, especially A2Dominion customers, who are thinking of pursuing a career in construction.
Visionary women
The Visionary You programme helps women get into construction
The Visionary You programme (worth £1,995 per person) is fully-funded for eligible participants and will teach transferable skills in leadership, project management and environmental sustainability

In the UK, just under 87% of women working in construction hold office positions, and only around 2.5% of tradespeople are women, according to research by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Women also only make up around 14% of staff executives and 7% of line executive positions.

The next Visionary You programme starts on Monday 13 February and new programmes start every two weeks.

What will you get from the programme?

The programme covers a mixture of Practical Workshops and 1-2-1 Coaching and a Level 4 Project Management Unit.

Visionary You offers:

  • 6 half day online workshops
  • Online Learning Modules
  • Comprehensive Workbook and Materials
  • One-To-One Coaching
  • Networking with like-minded women
There is an opportunity to gain an accredited Team Leading or Project Management Certificate.

Who is the programme for?

You can book onto the programme if you are female and:

  • Live in a Greater London Borough
  • Have no qualifications above level 3 (A level or college)
  • Are not currently working or earning below the current minimum living wage (£11.95 per hour)
The programme is fully funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Greater London Authority (GLA).

Dele Ryder, Partnership and Fundraising Manager at A2Dominion, said: “Women are typically underrepresented in construction, and we want to help change that. We are pleased to partner with the Breyer Group and Quantum Vantage to give our customers this unique opportunity to explore a career path they may not have thought about before.”
