Residents come together to celebrate the King’s Coronation

Colleagues from Specialist Housing supported hundreds of our residents to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Around 600 residents from across more than a dozen of our supported accommodation sites took part in events to mark the historic occasion over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Those interested applied for funding through our Donations Fund and more than £3,000 was allocated for them to enjoy the special day.

The opportunity saw colleagues and residents come together over coronation-themed activities, spaces were colourfully decorated, and refreshments laid on.

At Viscount Court in Windsor, residents decked the retirement living area in union-jack flags, royal memorabilia and put on afternoon tea.

Margaret, who lives at Viscount Court, said: “I had a lovely time, the food was great and we danced the afternoon away.”

King Charles was crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort, at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May.
